We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fermentation Scientist that is looking for a challenge: optimizing the bioreactor scale up of a novel bacterial expression system.
As one of our first team members, you will play a critical role in the design and implementation of fermentation processes to produce high-purity recombinant proteins with immediate impact on both the company and our customers. Your responsibilities will include leading fermentation optimization experiments at various levels, applying new processes and technologies for the production and purification of proteins, developing research plans for optimizing strain performance, identifying key factors affecting fermentation, contributing to project planning, and maintaining master and working stocks of microbial strains.
We're looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or related field, experience in a biological laboratory, and demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments. The ideal candidate will also have experience in industrial fermentation, an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.), knowledge of analytics & instrumentation of biological processes, and experience with systems biology analysis.
